The average amount of time kids spent with mobile devices has increased nearly 10 times since 2011.

To combat this, GS&P partnered with Common Sense media and Will Ferrell in a campaign to highlight how pervasive and intrusive mobile devices have become during precious family events.

The spots feature familiar scenarios that could be plucked from anyone’s dining room where a family has settled into dinner and someone won’t get off their phone. Only instead of a surly teenager or precocious child, it’s a parent. A famous parent all in the hopes of adding awareness to the movement of Device Free Dinner.

This year, the biggest battle of the Super Bowl won’t be on the field. For the first time ever, two brands are going head-to-head during the commercial break to launch two new products: Doritos Blaze and Mountain Dew Ice.

The two brands will face off in an epic rap battle starring Peter Dinklage and Morgan Freeman, who will perform iconic rap verses from Busta Rhymes and Missy Elliott. Dinklage will #SPITFIRE for Doritos; Freeman will go #ICECOLD for Dew.

After the spot airs on Super Bowl Sunday, a Snapchat lens will go live that lets users pick a side and rap the same lyrics as Dinklage and Freeman. Through Snapchat, Busta and Missy will continue to ask the nation to pick a side using the hashtags #SPITFIRE and #ICECOLD.

    Released: January 2018

Icelandic Vikings | We Will Rock You

Client:
Ram Truck Brand
  • “Icelandic Vikings | We Will Rock You”

Our Ram “Icelandic Vikings | We Will Rock You” Super Bowl spot humorously pays tribute to the setting of this year’s big game, Minneapolis. The Ram Truck Brand fittingly enlists the help of Icelandic Vikings, thought to be some of the first European settlers in Minnesota, to showcase the all-new 2019 Ram 1500 Limited – a truck built to take on anything that comes its way.

“Icelandic Vikings” is set to an up-tempo cut of “We Will Rock You,” a version of Queen’s ultimate stadium song that was originally recorded in 1977 by the BBC, and follows the epic adventures of the Vikings’ longship being towed across land by the Ram 1500 Limited before the ship tows the truck across the ocean. The spot was filmed in Iceland to ensure authenticity, given the country’s natural and heroic scenery, which was complemented by its low light and frigid look. Director Joe Pytka, a renowned director of many well-known Super Bowl television spots, captured a picture-perfect cinematic adventure to bring this story to life.
