Freaking Us Out

  • Freaking Us Out

One Medical is always looking for new ways to promote healthy and in many cases lifesaving behaviors. So we put a twist on an age-old Halloween trope to emphasize one of the simplest and most effective ways to control the spread of COVID-19: wear a mask. “Freaking Us Out” features a masked chainsaw killer and a young woman running through the woods at night. The scene intensifies and blurs—as it often does when a chainsaw killer and a young woman are running through the woods at night. But this time the killer trips, and we see that he’s the one who’s being chased. And he’s the one who’s freaked out, because he’s wearing a COVID-19 mask and the young woman chasing him is maskless. Her breath appears in the night, and a super reminds viewers, “You’re freaking everyone out. Wear a mask.”

Unfortunately, the IT department is often overlooked and regarded as unnecessary overhead, but HP set out to change that with the new film, Chain Reaction. The short film invites viewers to escape their couches, kitchen counters and makeshift home offices and follow one unlikely hero, the IT manager, on a globe-trotting adventure that’s reminiscent of simpler times, when work and travel were one in the same. The Plunge

  • The Plunge

The pandemic has changed our lives, our perspectives and our priorities—especially when it comes to our health. Whether it’s finding new ways to exercise or spending more time on mental health, many are using this moment to change for the better. To encourage even more people to think about who they want to be when this chapter comes to an end, we launched One Medical’s first-ever television commercial.

The story follows the journey of open-water swimmer Mina Rhoden as she carries out her daily ritual of swimming in the frigid Bay Area waters—a routine that she has embraced even more during the pandemic.

Directed by Lance Acord, the inspiring film invites viewers to ponder a simple thought-provoking question: ”When all this is over, who will you be?”
