    The US has some of the most expensive cellular data plans in the world. Xfinity Mobile, however, is a new kind of network designed to save people money.

    To show how overpriced other plans are, Xfinity Mobile is turning pre-roll ads into price tags by calculating how much money people are spending on data to stream an upcoming YouTube video.

    For example, if someone is about to watch a five-minute beauty-tutorial video, they are shown an ad that tells them, “The next tutorial could cost you up to $1.06 cents in data. So switch to Xfinity Mobile and save.”

    The prices shown in each film change depending on the length of the video the person is about to stream and the cost of data with their specific carrier.

    With the World Cup taking place in Russia this year, Xfinity has decided to help fans sneakily watch the games during work hours. The Secret Screen is a specially engineered tablet hidden inside a notebook. To the naked eye, it appears to be nothing more than a paper-white digital screen, but when users put on their special polarized glasses, the live-stream of World Cup games from the Xfinity Stream app becomes visible. Secret Screens have been distributed to soccer fans across the country just in time for the World Cup, ensuring that they never miss a game.

    On October 16, with the help of an audience on Twitter, a team of paranormal investigators made their way through the largest haunted house in the US, the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose. But halfway through their journey, things suddenly went horribly, horribly wrong. The house appeared to become possessed. And one by one, the investigators went missing.

    Viewers lost it.

    #ProjectDeadZone garnered over 5 million views and still had Twitter buzzing days after it aired.

Xfinity Reality Week

    To celebrate Xfinity Reality Week we opened the world’s first reality-TV Bar.

    The inspiration for this idea was simple: Reality TV is more popular than news and sports among Americans. So, Xfinity converted one of Miami’s most popular sports bars into the XfinityReality Bar, a bar dedicated to reality television. 

    Timed with January TV premieres and the Golden Globes, every detail of the bar has been designed with reality-TV fans in mind, from the memorabilia—which includes items like the original duck phone used on Jersey Shore—to reality-TV trivia and celebrity Q&As. 

    For the millions of reality-TV fans who can’t make it to Miami, Xfinity will be creating a Reality Week hub on their X1 entertainment platform. By saying “Show me Reality Week” into their X1 Voice Remotes, fans will be able to access exclusive content from the bar, including interviews, games and viewing parties with their favorite (or least favorite) reality stars.
