Our intern opportunities for the Summer of 2021 have been filled.

We are excited to be supporting the AAFs Multicultural Advertising Intern Program (MAIP), the AEFs Marketing and Advertising Education (MADE) program, the San Francisco Unifed School District (SFUSD) Career Pathways program and the Oakland Unifed School District (OUSD) Career Pathways program through our summer internships.  We will have 1-2 interns from each program working with us this summer.

Regional Account Director - Southern Region


Field Account Director – BMW Southern Region
Location:  Greenville, Charlotte or Atlanta

We are looking for a strong Account Director (AD) who can demonstrate solid business judgment and sound strategic CREATIVE thinking. The AD drives overall strategic direction and is tasked with being a marketing partner for the Southern Region BMW clients. The AD must demonstrate an interest in becoming an expert in BMW’s and the Dealer group’s businesses, and be the clear leader on the business with the Clients and within the Agency. This individual is responsible for identifying business opportunities and solutions on a regular basis. The AD sets the tone for how the Southern Region is managed by assuring focus on key client objectives and delivering appropriate resources.
 

General skills needed to thrive as an Account Director at GS&P:

Ability to cultivate long term client relationships
A verifiable track record of managing large scale client initiatives
Proven ability to negotiate complex, multi-phased engagement contracts
Financial and budgetary responsibility
Familiarity with interactive technologies and current deployment techniques
Management experience with various levels of Creative, Account and Technical staff
Be a flexible and collaborative team player; internally, with our Client partners and our collection of Agency partners

Responsibilities specific to the Account Director, BMW Southern Region:

Provide a critical line of communication between the dealers and BMW NA. Help keep BMW aware of local plans, dealer issues, and what they are hearing in the field
Develop retail strategies to help make dealers better marketers. Maximize digital showroom traffic and lead generation
A digital advertising skill set is critical, in particular experience with Online Streaming Services, as well SEO, SEM, and Social
Provide on-going analysis and feedback to Region on their local efforts
Continue to motivate dealers. Help them embrace the new creative instructions and smart premium positioning and be excited about the brand’s future

Regional Overview

Dedicated retail marketing/business development team responsible for account management, strategic planning, marketing templates, retail strategies and advertising programs to support regional and Tier 3/dealer marketing efforts

Key Initiatives

Tier 2 regional activation
Tier 2 subcommittee support
Tier 3 regional management and marketing support
Dealer business development and marketing consulting (127 dealers)/Dealer communications
Retail digital strategy
Retail marketing templates/quarterly retail strategies (3/quarter)
Dealer meetings/contact plan
Provide a retail marketing team responsible for account management, strategic planning, developing templates and advertising programs and Regional/Tier 2 retail business development
Tier 2 and Regional Services
Regional/Tier 3 retail business development
Support for Regional Business Managers and Area Managers in developing templates and strategies (3/quarter) for retail focused marketing plans and sharing tools and tactics for local activation
Management, strategic development and integration of Regional Tier 2 marketing plans
Ensure all tactics executed by the Southern Region are in-line with BMW Brand and Corporate Identity standards
Travel requirement: Less than 25%

Preferably located in or willing to relocate to the Greenville area Charlotte or Atlanta for right candidate

We are Jill Sammons and Leslie Bee. Together we have been at GS&P a total of 40 years working in a variety of roles, across several departments. We have been hosting these office hours sessions since last April, just after we started shelting-in-place. We created these office hours as a way to help you get answers to your career questions.

Please join us for our next office hours session on Tuesday, April 20th, from 2:00-3:30pm PST.  Our earlier sessions are now full.

This session is geared to those who are new in their career and/or just starting out. If you are a current college student, recent college graduate and/or trying to break into advertising, we hope you will reach out. (If you are a junior creative, please join the creative office hours sessions that we host from time to time)
