Digital and Social Analytics Strategist

We are looking for a data detective who is also a creative thinker and dynamic storyteller to join our Analytics Department - a division of our strategy team.

The right person will have experience in (and a facility for) analyzing digital and social data, deriving fascinating insights from the data and then relaying those insights in a compelling and engaging way to a team of non-data types - in a way that even a five year old could understand.

This role works within the creative world of advertising and has the fun (and oh-so-important) job of providing the spark that inspires the creative teams to develop the award winning work that we are known for. You will be dealing with all things digital and social and really relying on the data in order to make creative decisions.


Day-to-day activities could include:  

Aggregating and interpreting campaign and/or extant data

Social listening, reporting and monitoring

Assisting in creative briefs and providing data to support the creative recommendations.

Providing actionable insights to inform campaign optimization for the creative team and client decision-making

Synthesizing results into clear and visually-pleasing dashboards, reports, and/or client presentations

Consult with media team on performance.

Provide data backed insights and optimization for media planning.

Setting and adhering to guidelines and managing expectations across a variety of stakeholders.

Working across a variety of client projects, new business and internal projects.

Will have the opportunity to manage the junior/interns on the team.

 

Qualifications:

1 - 2 years prior digital and social analytics experience.

Proficient in Excel.  Comfortable working with large data sets.

Knowledge of Tableau is a plus.

Deep understanding of the digital and social media landscape. 

Ability to interpret media data and provide recommendations.

Adept at project, time and people management.

Confident leading and managing.

Work well independently and collaboratively.

 

Must be able to bring in a sample of a report that you have written demonstrating your ability to analyze data, not just report it.

Summer Interns 2021


Thank you for your interest in our summer intern program.

Our intern opportunities for the Summer of 2021 have been filled.

We are excited to be supporting the AAFs Multicultural Advertising Intern Program (MAIP), the AEFs Marketing and Advertising Education (MADE) program, the San Francisco Unifed School District (SFUSD) Career Pathways program and the Oakland Unifed School District (OUSD) Career Pathways program through our summer internships.  We will have 1-2 interns from each program working with us this summer.

We are Jill Sammons and Leslie Bee. Together we have been at GS&P a total of 40 years working in a variety of roles, across several departments. We have been hosting these office hours sessions since April 2020, just after we started shelting-in-place. We created these office hours as a way to help you get answers to your career questions.

Please join us for our next office hours session on Tuesday, May 18th, from 2:00-3:30pm PST.  Our earlier sessions are now full.

This session is geared to those who are new in their career and/or just starting out. If you are a current college student, recent college graduate and/or trying to break into advertising, we hope you will reach out. (If you are a junior creative, please join the creative office hours sessions that we host from time to time)
