"got milk?" Earns Its Rightful Place Next to Girl Scout Cookies

March 1, 2016
  • You can’t have cookies without milk, right? Cookies LOVE milk. In fact, milk makes ALL food taste better. It’s science. And yet, for almost 100 YEARS, the Girl Scouts have been selling their delicious cookies and milk has been nowhere in sight.

This year, we made sure the Boy Scouts were right next to the Girl Scouts, selling milk. Matt Williams from Dean Foods kindly donated single servings of delicious chilled Berkley Farms milk, which were sold for a donation with all proceeds going to the Boy Scouts of America.

We launched a short film re-capping the event — timed w/Girl Scouts Weekend and targeted on social media. Whenever people are talking about how much they love #girlscoutcookies on Twitter, a short version of the film pops up, reminding people that you simply can’t have cookies without milk. Targeted ads will also appear on Facebook.

As you’ll see, at the end of this stunt, official “got milk?” patches were earned. Cash was raised. Milk and cookies were enjoyed together. And all was right with the world.

Read about it on Creativity, where it was named "Ad of the Day."
