The Connected Billboard
The Internet of Everything is changing everything, even billboards. We took a digital billboard on Silicon Valley’s busiest stretch of freeway and used APIs that “talk” to real-time traffic sensors, maps and a back-end network.
When traffic was moving quickly, drivers saw a quick headline. But when traffic slowed down during rush hour, they saw a longer message. And they saw an even longer one when traffic was at a standstill.
It was a first-of-its kind connected billboard, and it provided a glimpse into the future of advertising.
